A friend studies lobbyists and their influence on society for a living. Lobbyists have to convince people for a living. She told me for a lobbyist to convince they first have to be friendly and likable.
The more we talked, the more I realized I have to be kind of a lobbyist myself. We all know, the technical part is the easy side of our work, and convincing people is the hard part.
We collected a few things that could help me to become perceived as more friendly and therefore be more convincing with customers:
– Smile, smile, smile!
– Learn the names
– Learn details like city, hobbies, favorite food…
– Be kind
– Be inclusive
– Always be professional
– Include and ask for opinions
– Smile, smile, smile
What is your thought on that?
